The CA-1550 CML Charger/Analyzer is a versatile and portable unit designed for charging and discharging capacity testing of Nickel Cadmium sealed or vented Lead Acid aircraft batteries. It does not require programming or the use of a computer, and features digital read-outs of volts, amperes, and time. The unit is capable of accurately charging, testing, and guaranteeing the emergency capacity of sealed or vented lead-acid or nickel-cadmium batteries, which is especially important for aircraft batteries. It comes in a protective carrying case and is flexible in its ability to charge and test 12 or 24 volt lead-acid batteries as well as nickel-cadmium batteries from a single cell to 22 cells. The charge section allows for charging at both constant potential or constant current, with an adjustable charge current from 0 to 25 amperes, and automatic times to read and/or terminate charge and discharge time. The discharge section enables battery capacity testing with a constant current of 0-50 amperes, automatically measuring the battery voltage and determining the battery's ability to maintain the specified minimum voltage for a pre-settable time. The unit also includes a digital voltmeter, ammeter, and timer, and comes with aircraft connector, alligator clips, and rings.

Space Requirements

The CA-1550 system comes in a sturdy transit case. It occupies 17" x 20" (432 mm x 508 mm) of table top space. Place the unit on a sturdy workbench in a well-ventilated area with the battery adjacent to it. The top of the unit has air flow from hot resistors. Always leave the cover open and the resistor vent uncovered when in operation, to maintain proper air flow.
