ULB / Ultrasonic Test Sets

The ULB / Ultrasonic Test Sets are standard equipment for every major aviation and military black box manufacturer and also on military fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft flying voice and data recorders.

 

The unit is fitted to aviation flight recorders like the cockpit voice recorder (CVR), the flight data recorder (FDR) as well as to the aircraft fuselage. Once activated by immersion in water, a ULB will emit an ultrasonic pulse at 37.5 kHz every second for a duration of at least 30 days.
