The Barfield DPS-400 avionics test equipment is a bench tester which is a microprocessor based device having the most recent in transducer technology. These transducers combined with manually controlled very sensitive differential regulators enable an avionics technician to precisely manage the altitude and airspeed without needing for correction cards. These true differential regulators enable a technician to independently control the airspeed and altitude and get rid of the call for a crossbleed valve.

The simple menu driven digital display measures and shows Altitude, Vertical Speed, Airspeed, EPR as well as other values in different units of measure, including: Ft, M, Kts, Km/hr, Mach, Ft/ min, M/min, EPR (Pt/Ps), inHg, mb, and psia. Defense limitation is supplied by computer actuated solenoid valves that sustain aircraft altitude, airspeed, rate of climb/decent and mach instruments. The avionics test set also has internal pumps which could generate a pressure and vacuum ideal for simulating 55K Ft, 650 Knots, and 6000 Ft/min situation in large body aircraft.
