Transponder Test Equipment

Transponder test sets operate by simulating the transmission of a ground station signal and assessing the response of the transponder being tested. The test equipment examines and checks several response parameters as outlined by airline and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) specifications and requirements.

Transponder test equipment capabilities include digital readout of transponder amplitude and frequency, binary pulse information for code and amplitude, and altitude encoders to ensure altitude accuracy. Since the equipment is portable, it contains an internal battery as well as a battery charger.
